STUDIO LEADERSHIP TEAM

Julia Mancini - Director Julia is a junior from Boston, MA who is in Peabody College majoring in Human & Organizational Development and minoring in Corporate Strategy and Spanish.  She joined DFA last year as a member of the College Accessibility project and has collaborated with Vanderbilt administration and the OACS office with DIVE Bootcamps and various related DIVE-projects. She's a Ravenclaw and has been 5'3" since the fifth grade.

Emma Hart - Community Outreach Coordinator Emma is a sophomore from Seattle, WA who is in Peabody College and studying Child Development and Public Policy. She is interested in high poverty & early education work and was a member of the College Accessibility project last year. This year she'll be spearheading the Design for Change partnership and will serve as our main contact with OACS. She also loves dogs and mangos.

Karina Gupta - DFA National Correspondent Karina is a sophomore from Palo Alto, California. She is a sophomore this year at Vandy majoring in Engineering Science with a minor in US History. She is serving as the DFA national correspondent, and is super excited about all the projects we have coming up this year.  One fun fact about her is that all her fingers and toes are double-jointed.

Hannah Braun - Treasurer Hannah is senior in the School of Engineering Majoring In Computer Engineering. Last year she worked on the bridging the gender gap for girls in computer science in collaboration with the Entrepreneur Center in Nashville. Her dream job after she graduates is to be a ski instructor in Colorado.

 Austin Hardcastle - Project Lead, Granddaddy Design Austin is a senior from Pace, FL majoring in biomedical engineering. His official studio title is "Granddaddy Design," and he has been leading the College Accessibility team. In the past he's worked on the Patient Comfort team in collaboration with Vanderbilt's Medical Center to reduce ambient noise in hospitals.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, reading Lord of the Rings, and writing about himself in third person.

Last year he was on the College Accessibility team, and he is continuing his work with DFA this year as one of our Design Curriculum Crafters. His dream job is to design spy gear for government agents.

Kenneth Li - Curriculum Crafter Kenneth is a sophomore from Ann Arbor, MI who is in the Engineering School studying Computer Science. He was also a member of our College Accessibility team last year, and he is joining Jason as one of our Design Curriculum Crafters. He is also a member of AKPsi, the business fraternity on campus.

Sophia Chirayil - Media Mogul

Sophia is a sophomore from Belle Mead, NJ studying Cognitive Studies. She enjoys singing and writing music and is interested in the intersection between technology and art, and how it can be used to promote social awareness.
